About Us

Thank you for visiting the A Man Among Them website.

It was in December of 2009 that I felt that God showed me part of my calling in life.  At the time, I intermingled politics, theology, and current American culture in my personal blog.  I read a book, Straight Talk to Men by James Dobson, and this paragraph is what astounded me most, "If America is going to survive the incredible stresses and dangers it now faces, it will be because husbands and fathers again place their families at the highest level on their system of priorities, reserving a portion of their time and energy for leadership within their homes."

Also around that time, I talked with a Christian talk show host, and asked what we can do to stop the sinful trend that America is facing.  In Irvin Baxter's reply, I remember that he was especially concerned with the homosexual movement being the most destructive force in our nation.  Studies show that the reason young men become homosexuals is due to a lack of physical distinction between men and women.  Now ask yourself, isn't it the father that provides the physical distinction in the child's mental formation years?  Both of these reputable men seemed to agree, but to my knowledge, they had never met.

In the last month of 2009, I was trying to find a good website for only young men, written by someone who was in touch with today's issues.  Although there are several websites that fit the general description, they also seemed preoccupied with other issues and age groups.  This is when I felt God telling me to start A Man Among Them.  I want to serve you and encourage you in the battles that you face. Together, we'll change our world.
